Public Session-

Mr. Provest asked if the commercial request to supply a new light at the side of the envelope factory had materialised. Cllr. Mrs. Lewis-Mason was sorry but the light would not be donated.

  1. To elect a Chairman for the year 2002/2003
  2. There was one nomination, that for Cllr. Gregory - he was duly elected.

  3. Minutes of a meeting of the Lighting Committee held on 2nd September 2002
  4. These minutes, which had been previously circulated, were taken as read agreed a true record and signed by the Chairman. There were no matters arising.

  5. To consider the Action Plan

Clerk had now received prices from SEC for the new lights listed on the Action Plan but the prices were not comprehensive as the WPD prices for connection and trenching were not available as their computer was down therefore nearest power points were not available. The prices given however did give a good indication as to which site would be expensive and which site relatively cheaper.

The Action Plan was amended for future use and left to a later meeting when a priority list could be formulated. The proposed light on the pole beside the envelope factory in Braysdown Lane was added to the Plan for funding by this Council.

Clerk had provided estimates for the power and maintenance of the existing lights and eventually it was agreed to make a bid in the precept for £8,500, which would allow for £2211 for repairs or new lights.

Meeting closed at 7.30 p.m.
