Minutes of a meeting of the Magazine Committee held on Monday 17th March 2003 at 8.45 p.m. in the Cricket Clubhouse

Present: Cllr. Mrs. K M Thomas (Chairman)

Cllrs. J S Bolwell, R W G Butt, Mrs. M A Button, F J Day, Mrs. E V Latchem and C Rich.

Also present: Cllr. McInnes and Chairman of the Council.
  1. Minutes of a Magazine Committee meeting held on 20th January 2003

    2. These minutes, which had been previously circulated were taken as read agreed a true record and signed by the Chairman. There were no matters arising.

  2. Correspondence

    3. Clerk had received an invoice from UK Internet Registry for the sum of £175 being payment to register and protect the domain for two years. Clerk had noticed that registry covered both .com and .co.uk labels and wondered why both as our domain had a .co.uk only label. Chairman was also mystified and suggested that the Clerk telephone the firm to enquire the reason for double protection.

  3. Feed Back on delivery of last Newsletter

    4. Although some members said that they had been missed last time, Cllr. Mrs. Button reported one of her best surveys.

  4. Parish Web Site

    5. Chairman reported that she had experienced a little trouble recently when uploading information. She asked for members who could to log on and see if all was well. Clerk reported 1714 hits during January.

  5. Make-up of April 2003 Newsletter

It was agreed to use one half page to start the Peasedown St John in Bloom publicity. Other stories promised or to be written by the Clerk included:

Church news, Beacon Field update, local elections, Chairman's review of the year, plea for cleanliness at the new POS, boundaries survey, Youth P.C., Youth Club, football club, fair, dog warden, guides, scouts, brownies and cubs.
