Minutes of a meeting of the Magazine Committee held on Monday 20th January 2003 at 8.45 p.m. in the Cricket Clubhouse
Present Cllr. Mrs. K M Thomas (Chairman)
Cllrs. J S Bolwell, Mrs. M A Button, F J Day and Mrs. E V Latchem.
One member of the public.
An apology was received from Cllr. C Rich.
Public Session: there were no questions or comments.
These minutes, having been previously circulated, were taken as read agreed a true record and signed by the Chairman. There were no matters arising.
Cllr. Mrs. Button said that she had done a limited scan of this village this time and, unfortunately, several members of the Council were missed. Cllr. Mrs. Button has now spoken with some of the newsboys/girls and there seems to be confusion over the method of delivery as the newsagent insists on the boys and girls delivering our Newsletter independently of other papers. Members were not complacent but it is considered that the delivery is still much better than the other method used.
Clerk reported 1347 hits during December and the Chairman thought that the extra hits are coming from the extra links she has made.
Clerk reported that he has now re-registered the domain name for another two years until 5th March 2004 with "Nominet uk", it is not yet certain whether a payment will be due as, initially, btconnect paid for the first two years and may pay again.
Clerk has provided the Chairman with the public notice concerning the Freedom of Information Act, which is required to be put on the web site.
As well as the usual items expected it was agreed to cover the new facilities at the Hollies, dog fouling, drivers for SWAN, floral displays and beds, election facts, new POS, Beacon Field meeting, Youth Public Meeting, dedicated seat and Christmas lights report. It was also agreed that an advert for an Internal Auditor for 2003/2004 should go in this month.
Meeting closed at 9.20 p.m.
