Environment Committee

AGENDA

Public Session - 10 minutes when the public may express a view or ask a question on relevant matters on the following agenda. Members of the Public are welcome to stay and observe the rest of the meeting.

  1. To receive apologies for absence
  2. Minutes of an Environment Committee meeting held on 14th April 2003 - to agree a true record and sign (previously circulated)
  3. Any matters arising from the minutes of 14th April 2003
  4. Hanging baskets, water machine and grass cutting. Clerk to report on the first meeting with the new Cemetery Caretaker and that he has agreed to carry out the hanging basket watering and also to keep the grass clear under seats where necessary

  6. a). CPRE Avonside. Invitation to take tea in their Chairman's garden on Sunday 15th June from 3 to 5 p.m. at The Manor, Queen Charlton, near Keynsham. Entrance £2.50. The Council has been given two tickets. (Seems to be a fund-raiser - if you join CPRE on the day the entrance fee will be refunded)

    b). B&NES. Carriageway Surface Dressing Programme 2003

    c). Mr. A Hastings. Additional Tree Planting POS

    d). B&NES. Local Transport Plan - Annual Progress Report Public Exhibition. Somer Centre, Midsomer Norton on 12th June from 6 to 8 p.m. Names to Clerk ASAP

    e). Mrs. Dyson. General comments on Allotment procedures

  7. Matters referred from the Annual Council Meeting held on 12th May 2003
  8. a). Derelict Property - 73, Ashgrove

    b). Abandoned Car in entrance of Belle Vue Close

    c). Section of Land at the western end of the new POS

    d). Footpath crossings on by-pass

    e). Rubbish on village footpaths

  9. Village Traffic Calming - Chairman to raise and invite members to debate its effectiveness and this Council's expectations
  10. Speed warning flashing light systems - Cllr. Mrs. Thomas to raise
  11. Hand-held speed guns - Cllr. Mrs. Thomas to suggest they be used by this Council with community assistance
  12. To receive an update on the progress of the works on the new POS and to propose a date and format for the opening ceremony bearing in mind that the August Newsletter will be a 5th birthday edition
  13. Any other business, being an exchange of information for noting or placing on future agenda
