Public Session - 10 minutes when the public may express a view or ask a question on relevant matters on the following agenda. Members of the Public are welcome to stay and observe the rest of the meeting, although the meeting may decide to ask press and public to leave during Items 5, 6 & 7, in accordance with the Public Bodies (Admission to Meetings) Act 1960, due to the confidential nature of the business.

  1. To receive any apologies for absence
  2. Minutes of the Personnel Committee meeting held on 6th September 2004 - to agree a true record and sign (previously circulated)
  3. Any matters arising from the minutes of 6th September 2004
  4. To consider further the proposal from the Council meeting held on 26th July 2004 that this Committee should look at the risk management concerning cover for the Clerk during prolonged illness or long holiday periods. Please find enclosed a draft job description and person specification for the post of deputy to the Clerk with costs.

Please note that if another person is employed by this Council (making five) all the clauses of the Health and Safety at Work legislation will come into play with an initial cost of posters, accident book etc. of £169 inclusive of VAT and delivery

  1. To consider the purchase of a starter pack (for one to four employees) of stationery for Health and Safety at Work to cover the present 4 persons employed by this Council at a cost of £125 inclusive of VAT and delivery or to purchase the full pack as above
  2. To consider further a draft Code of Conduct for Local Government Officers and Review of Restrictions on the Political Activities of Local Council Employees - Cllr. Butt to report
  3. To consider a report from NALC on the new Statutory Dismissal, Discipline and Grievance Procedures for council employees - Clerk to report
  4. Any other business, being an exchange of information for noting or placing on a future agenda.
