Agenda for Council Meeting Monday 24th November 2003 at 7 p.m. in the Cricket Clubhouse:
AGENDA
Public Session – 15 minutes when the public may express a view or ask a question on relevant matters on the following agenda. Members of the public are welcome to stay and observe the rest of the meeting.
Cllr. Coleshill (B&NES) has given notice that she would like to introduce a Youth Project Worker who is visiting the district.
a). Parish Design Statement. Progress report
a). B&NES. Request for contacts for local outlets for selling Garden Waste Sacks
b). Lansdown Day Nurseries Ltd. Information on an after school club and progress of a newly funded Nursery in Eckweek Road under the Sure Start scheme
c). Peasedown Opportunity Project. Letter requesting help in persuading B&NES to reduce letting fees for POP at the Youth Centre
d). B&NES. Consultation about their relationship with the voluntary and community sector. A very long report requiring comments by 13th February 2004
e). B&NES. Renewal of Public Entertainment Licence at Beacon Hall
a). To agree payment of accounts (to be tabled)
b). To receive a report from the Internal Auditor following his half-year audit
Members' Allowances, Travelling and Subsistence Expenses: a formal resolution is required under the new Act announcing that this Council is willing to pay travelling and subsistence expenses to members. A formal resolution has to be passed before 31st December 2003 and the decision and scales made public by posting in the notice boards for 14 days. It is expected that the recommended scales will be available from the Remuneration Panel before the meeting, if the scales are not available the resolution can announce that the scales will be adhered to - when available.
The clarify the position it is also recommended that a formal resolution is passed to allow the Council to continue to pay reasonable expenses to the Chairman to enable him to carry out his civic duties under LGA 1972 s15 (5)
