We welcome Radstock Sector Inspector Paul Kendal of the Avon and Somerset Police who will give a short address and then take questions from members and the public

AGENDA

Public Session – 15 minutes when the public may express a view or ask a question on relevant matters on the following agenda. Members of the public are welcome to stay and observe the rest of the meeting.

  1. To receive and accept any apologies for absence
  2. Members’ Interests. Members are reminded of their obligation to declare any interest they may have in any issue arising at this meeting which might conflict with the business of the Council
  3. Minutes of the Council meeting held on 26th September 2005 to agree a true record and sign (previously circulated)
  4. Any matters arising from the minutes of 26th September 2005 being an exchange of information only
  5. Chairman's Announcement
  6. To consider presenting the Clerk with a leaving present of a PC for his and village use. (This can be funded by using LGA 1972 Section 137 (as amended) as it is considered to be in the wider interests of the council in that it brings credit to the parish because the PC will be used by the former Clerk to report on council business in the Press and that it can be used as a back up to the council's system if and when there is a fault on that system).

    7. Cllr. J W Goring to propose:

    That: in pursuance of the powers conferred by s.137 of the Local Government Act 1972 (as amended) and being of the opinion that the expenditure satisfies the requirement of that section, the Council approves expenditure in the sum of £1075 in respect of a PC for the former Clerk in recognition of his long service to this Council".

  7. To decide on a suitable event to mark the retirement of John Whittock
  8. Cllr R W G Butt to update on the progress of the office move to the Beacon Hall
  9. Accounts-To agree Payment of Accounts (to be tabled)

    10. On a recommendation from the Internal Auditor this item will be subject to a recorded vote
