Minutes of a meeting of the Amenities Committee held on the 5 December 2005 at 8pm in the Cricket Clubhouse.

Public Session

Peter Provest raised the issue of the football club money and stated that at present there is no formal agreement between the Council and the Club.

The Chairman is to approach the football club committee to arrange a meeting to formalise an agreement for rent and to set down a time scale.

Minutes of the Amenities Committee held on the 24 October 2005

These minutes, which had been previously circulated were taken as read, agreed as a true record and signed by the Chairman.

  4. It was decided to pay the football grant of £200.00 for a secure storage box for equipment.

  5. Capital Projects 2006 / 2007

It was decided to to accept the quote from Richard Garrett for the Grass Cutting subject to him agreeing to include the hedge cutting of the recreation field in his original price

Bus Shelters £360.00 per year - Peter Provest the internal auditor asked to speak as he has had dealings with the local transport plan and if PSJPC is chosen to be part of this plan. New bus shelters will be installed so cleaning will no longer be necessary.

DDA seats - It was agreed to accept the Lion's offer of a seat in memory of Di Whittock and that the council would provide the fixtures. There is to be only one seat at present to comply with the DDA.

Councillors agreed that £450.00 allowed for Christmas trees was too great and to amend this to £250.00 also to look at the possibility of planting Christmas trees to grow for the future.

The contingency fund was lowered from £1000.00 to £500.00 for the coming year.

The clerk was asked to obtain two further quotes for the tarmacing of the pathway leading to the recreation field in order to comply with the DDA.

A price is required for a notice board to be erected in Carlingcott. This should be app £200.00 it was thought.

The hedge laying on the POS was agreed for 2005 / 2006 and as this has not yet been done The clerk will remind Broadleaf countryside contractors and ask them when they will take forward this work.

A notice board on the POS showing wildlife that may be seen etc was suggested - the clerk is to obtain quotes for a stone tablet.
