These minutes, which had been previously circulated were taken as read, agreed as a true record and signed by the Chairman.
It was suggested that the matter of the street lights leading to Carlingcott should be reconsidered at the next meeting once all the upheaval of the office move and new Clerk has been resolved.
Clerk reported on prices obtained so far, and it was suggested that maybe we could ask Mr Richard Garrett to also quote on the hedge cutting around the Recreation Field.
It was also put that we contact Broadleaf contractors to ask when they will carry out the work previously agreed by telephone. As spending is suspended at the moment due to the office move and new Clerk it was suggested that this item ought to be re-addressed at full council meeting on the 28th November.
One suggestion was put forward and that was to consider putting a notice board in Carlingcott
A letter has been received from Cllr Sarah Bevan making us aware that she has been in discussions with Mrs K Reaves of 1 Bath Road about the bench situated outside her house that the Parish Council put there. She is experiencing a lot of trouble with youths hanging about on the bench. The Committee agreed that there is a problem but felt taking away the bench was not the answer, as this would have a detrimental affect
to users of the bench during other times including the elderly. It was suggested that a
letter be sent to Cllr Bevan and Mrs Reaves explaining this and advising her that the
best course of action in the future should she experience any more trouble was to contact the Police directly so they have a record of this as nothing would be done by them without prior knowledge. It was also suggested that this matter would be brought up at the full council meeting when the Police Inspector attends.
We have also been contacted by the Lions in response to our letter asking if they would consider funding the DDA works required in the Rec. They have kindly agreed to buy one of the benches and have asked to dedicate it to Mrs Di Whittock. The council will however have to fund the installation of the bench.
Meeting closed at 8.30pm
