PEASEDOWN ST JOHN PARISH COUNCIL

Minutes of a Magazine Committee meeting held on Monday 16th May 2005 at 7.45 p.m. in the Cricket Clubhouse

Present: Cllrs. Mrs. Button, F J Day, Mrs. E V Latchem and C Rich.

Also in attendance: Cllrs. J P Rich, Mrs. R M Rich and one member of the public.

An apology was received from Cllr. Mrs. K M Thomas.

Public Session

Mr. Provest applauded the fact that Cllr. Mrs. Thomas has the web site well and truly up to date.

  1. Election of Chairman
  2. Cllr. Mrs. Latchem was invited to take the Chair.

  3. Minutes of a Magazine Committee meeting held on 14th March 2005
  4. These minutes, which had been previously circulated were taken as read, agreed a true record and signed by the Chairman. There were no matters arising.

  5. Feed Back comments on the last Newsletter distribution.
  6. Cllr. Mrs. Button had done random calls in Eckweek Gardens and Belle Vue Close and found 100% delivery. The Chairman had called on houses in Church Road and also found a 100% success rate. It was agreed to write to the Scouts with the Committee's congratulations on a good job well done.

  8. It was agreed, after Mr. Provest's glowing report, to join his congratulations to Cllr. Mrs. Thomas.

  9. Newsletter Content June 2005

Clerk reported that the regular reports from the churches and voluntary bodies were promised. Other articles were suggested which included - does the village need the telephone box outside the school? Pedestrian crossing opposite the Mercedes garage, fly posting, village green and telephone directory. It was agreed that the Village Directory should go in this time together with the application form for the Bloom Competition.

The Clerk hoped that the "stones" would be up in time for a picture and a photo opportunity may arise at the Annual Meeting.

 

As the Newsletter and Web Site would be, in the future, under the umbrella of the new Finance Committee it was agreed to thank the Clerk for his work over the past 42 editions. He also thanked the Committee for their suggestions over the years.
