PEASEDOWN ST JOHN PARISH COUNCIL
Minutes of a meeting of the Policy and General Purposes Committee held on Monday 12th December 2005 at 7 p.m. in the Cricket Clubhouse
Present: Cllr. R W G Butt (Chairman)
Mrs. F M Butt, J W Goring, Mrs. M Kennedy, J P Rich and F Day.
Also present: One Member of the public and Cllr R Rich
An apology was received from Cllr. J Bolwell, A A Spiller and Cllr C Rich

There were no questions or comments.
These minutes, which had been previously circulated were taken as read, agreed a true record and signed by the Chairman. Cllr R W G Butt noted that, due to the Full Council being cut short due to bad weather, the Co-option procedure will now be taken to Full Council on the 23rd January, in preparation in case it is needed to help fill the vacant position left by Cllr E J Derrick if, no election is called
The prices presented by the Clerk and studied by the council. It was decided that the running costs are taken to Finance to decide upon.
Richard Garret will be asked to do the grass cutting on the Cemetery.
Cllr R W G Butt has asked all the chairs of the committees to rethink their spending for 200/07 to include more projects for the village that will have a more visual effect and show the residents that the Parish Council is a forward thinking body.
No member was available to attend the next meeting on the 15th December as it was during the day. Clerk to send a letter explaining this.
The next meeting of the village Plan will be in January. Cllr R W G Butt has been elected Chairman of the Plan Committee and will report to Council in due course.
A time scale has been set for completion of the plan for 12 months time. The plan will span from 2005 to 2015. Other members have been appointed and a list will be presented when available.
It was decided to consult with Allianz and Cornhill our Insurers and Matt Bendle our local Police Officer to see whether they can advise on what type of security measures would be appropriate for the office.
Cllr R W G Butt has suggested that from now on all the committees will have their own file on the table with all the correspondence they have received.
The leaving party for John Whittock will be held at the beacon hall on the 21st January at 6.30pm
P&GP have been asked to review the charges for the Cemetery at their next meeting.
It was suggested that members should be asked whether the 23rd of January meeting be started at 6.45pm due to he amount of things that need to covered.
Cllr R W G Butt announced that he will be in the Parish office on Friday mornings and any business should go to him then if required.
A staff meeting is to be held on the 30th December and will be a chance for the new Clerk to meet with the staff.
Councillors have been asked to consider what they want to see in the next Magazine.
