Public Session

There were no questions or comments.

  1. Minutes of a Planning Committee meeting held on 4th July 2005
  2. These minutes, which had been previously circulated were taken as read, agreed a true record and signed by the Vice-chairman. There were no maters arising.

  3. Appeal Decisions
  4. Inspectors have dismissed appeals at 64, Carlingcott and at Homemead Farm, Carlingcott. Members agreed with the findings of the Inspector at no. 64, but felt that his argument over the losing of an agricultural building at Homemead Farm a little misplaced in this small hamlet which is now virtually 100% residential.

  5. Proposed tree-works at Woodborough Farmhouse, Braysdown
  6. The tree-works are in the conservation area and permission is required from the planning authority. The Senior Arboricultural Officer of B&NES has agreed one application for the pruning of several broadleaf species and members agreed not to oppose the work.

The other application was for cutting down five Lawson Cypresses along a boundary between two properties which were keeping the light from a couple of good broadleaf trees and, more importantly following the spirit of the new legislation, needed to come out as they were shading the neighbour's garden. Members agreed wholeheartedly to offer no objections. Clerk to inform B&NES.

  7. Planning observations made by the Chairman and Clerk during the August recess
  8. The committee endorsed all decisions.

  9. New Applications
  10. Three applications were viewed with no objections as printed in the Planning Register.

  11. Planning decisions made by B&NES

These were reviewed and all seemed to accord with this Council's policies.

Meeting closed at 7.40 p.m.
