- Extra items to be added to the agenda
- Wellow Lane – Proposed changes to the building boundary – Cllr Mrs F Butt spoke to the councillors regarding this proposal and reminded them that there was a public meeting arranged for Thursday 7th December at 7.30pm. Mr A Chegwyn has met with Cllrs RWG & F Butt to decide how best to take this forward. Cllr Mrs F Butt feels that no thought has been given to the extra traffic that may be generated if another 100 houses are built in that area with special emphasis on Braysdown Lane which has been been designated as part of the ‘Safe Routes to School’. Cllr J Bolwell thanked Cllr Mrs F Butt for all her hard work .
- Ashgrove Car Lot
– Plans to build a supermarket – Cllr Mrs M Kennedy reported that the plans had changed slightly in that there will be a pitch roof as opposed to the original flat roof, and that B&NES are looking into the growth of the village by 1000 extra residents in five years time. Having researched the history of the site and its surrounding area it has been found that houses all had their own wells and that any water has now been diverted by aquifers. A Tesco sign had been erected apologising for inconvenience but has now been removed as it was a ‘mistake’. There should have been an economic development report presented at the last democratic services meeting held on 15 November which was not presented and it is hoped it will appear at the meeting on 13 December 2006.
B&NES feel that this proposed development will re-generate the centre of the village – the Parish Council disagrees with this statement wholeheartedly. Cllr Mrs M Kennedy has applied to the Secretary of State Office SW for this plan to be called in.Cllr Mrs M Kennedy was thanked for her hard work on this subject.
Cllr Mrs M Button left the meeting as she had work commitments.
