PEASEDOWN ST JOHN PARISH COUNCIL
Minutes of a Planning Committee meeting held on Monday 5th April 2004 at 7 p.m. in the Cricket Clubhouse.
Present: Cllr. E J Derrick (Chairman)
Cllrs. J S Bolwell, F J Day, J W Graham, M J Gregory and Mrs. M Kennedy.
There were no public present.
These minutes, which had been previously circulated, were taken as read agreed a true record and signed by the Chairman. There were no matters arising.
a). B&NES. Notice of Appeal - 33 Tyning Road
The Clerk received notice that the applicant has appealed against the B&NES refusal to allow him to pull down one half of a semi-detached block and replace it with a detached house. During the consultation period this Council was very much against the proposal and objected. The Clerk has now re-iterated this Council's objection to the Planning Inspectorate and has agreed fully with the reasons for refusal given by B&NES. Clerk's action endorsed.
b). B&NES. Up-date on Enforcement Action at 25 Ashgrove
The Clerk received a copy of a letter from the Enforcement Officer, which was sent to the owners of this site on 17th March. The Clerk, realising that the 21 days notice has run out for applying for permission or to cease trading, phoned the Planning Office today and was told that no application had been received.
Members agreed that the Clerk should now follow up with a letter asking if B&NES will now carry out their threat and immediately start enforcement proceedings.
Six were considered and comments recorded in the Planning Register.
Four were studied and members agreed with three. Members were disappointed that B&NES has given permission for the extension at 19 Axford Way, which in this Council's opinion will get rid of yet another first-time buyers house.
Clerk reported on a telephone call on Friday last from Fiona Hull, Development Officer at the Somer Housing Trust. Following the Clerk's letter concerning the demolition of four houses in Frederick Avenue, which had been brought up at the Annual Parish Meeting held last Monday, she had rung to explain. She said that on Thursday evening she had informed the residents that the houses would not be demolished and would like to meet with this Council to discuss Somer's future plans in the village. Clerk explained that she would be willing to meet this Committee on 10th May. Members agreed and asked the Clerk to set up the meeting.
Meeting closed at 7.50 p.m.
