Minutes of a Planning Committee meeting held on 19th July 2004
These minutes, which had been previously circulated, were taken as read agreed a true record and signed by the Chairman. There were no matters arising.
a). B&NES. Development Control Scheme for Delegation
Notice that the scheme has now gone through the Planning Committee and has been adopted for immediate use. It will be reviewed in February 2005.
b). B&NES. Common Land Registration
Clerk has had yet another reply in answer to his latest reminder on the subject. It seems that the whole matter is still in the hands of Will Steel, an officer from the Public Rights of Way Team, who in turn is waiting for the legal department to make a ruling on the legality of the claim.
c). B&NES. Loss of starter homes
The Clerk has received a reply to his e-mail asking that the Planning Committee to take further notice of the fact that this Council is against the way B&NES are allowing two storey extensions on starter homes. Clerk was asked to write again to the planning office asking why the committee ignores the original mix.
d). The Planning Inspectorate
The Inspector has made a decision on the proposed development at 33 Tyning Road, where a "Swedish semi-detached house" is planned for demolition and a detached house built in its place. B&NES refused the proposal. The Inspector has allowed the appeal and given permission, albeit with conditions. Clerk was asked to write to B&NES expressing this Council's disappointment with the decision.
The committee endorsed all the August comments. New application comments are as printed in the Planning Register.
All were reviewed and noted.
Clerk reminded members that, quite some time ago this Council put forward several objections/comments and as the inquiry approaches this Council has been asked if it wishes to attend in person or allow the written comments to stand. It was agreed not to attend in person.
Meeting closed at 7.45 after having taken place entirely lit by candles during a power cut!
