Cllrs. J S Bolwell, R W G Butt, Mrs. E V Latchem and C Rich.
Also in attendance: - Cllrs. J P Rich and Mrs. R M Rich.
Two members of the public.
An apology was received from Cllr. Mrs. Lewis-Mason.
These minutes, which had been previously circulated were taken as read, agreed a true record and signed by the Chairman. There were no matters arising.
The Chairman thanked Cllr. Butt for his handling of this item at the last meeting of this Committee and his input into the Working Party appointed especially to consider the request for a BMX track in the Rec.
Cllr. Butt reported on the meeting he chaired held on 4th March when members of the public from both ends of the village together with Terry Nicholls of POP discussed the pros and cons and eventually came up with a recommendation to this Committee and Council.
The Clerk then reported that he had received a letter from POP telling the Council that it wished to withdraw its request for a site in the Rec.
Members felt that that, although the situation had changed, the recommendation was still valid and wished that, with a small amendment, it should carry on its way to full Council. It was agreed to change the word "the" before "request" in line two and replace it with "any".
The amendment was agreed and the recommendation endorsed for transmission to full Council.
"It is recommended by the Chair of the BMX Track Working Party to advise the Full Council not to pursue further any request to place a BMX Track on the Recreation Field and further that this matter shall not be re-visited by the Council for a period of at least six months from the date of the Full Council Meeting on Monday, 21st March 2005."
Meeting closed at 8 p.m.
